Terms of Membership

In applying for membership of MERG I agree to abide by the Rules and policies of the Group including the MERG Safeguarding Policy and I confirm that I am 12 years of age or over. I confirm that while I am under 18 years of age my parent or guardian agrees to me being a member and to these terms and conditions. I understand that my membership will be confirmed only after my parent or guardian has been contacted and confirmed consent.

By applying for membership of MERG I consent to the data supplied on the application form being used for the promotion of MERG's aims and for membership administration purposes, that may include membership data being provided to other members for the efficient management of Area Groups (AG) or Special Interest Groups (SIG).

MERG has a Data Protection Policy in compliance with relevant legislation.

I understand that the Membership Secretary will hold my details on a computer and such data may be held for a period of up to seven years following my resignation, to substantiate any transactions the authorities may wish to audit, before being deleted. I understand and accept that my data and that of other members may not be used for any commercial purpose. Members are responsible for advising the Membership Secretary of any changes in their data.

I also agree to indemnify MERG, its Officers and Members against any claim arising from any use or misuse of any publication, kit or other goods supplied to me by MERG.
